The Blue Mountains are no stranger to bushfires, but what happened this summer was unprecedented. Whilst thankfully some areas remain lush, green and able to be enjoyed, reportedly as much as 80% of the World Heritage area has been impacted by the bushfires.

As Keith Muir of the Colong Foundation for Wilderness has stressed in his recent message of hope, the bush of the Blue Mountains will recover strongly if we help it to. With that in mind, the community of outdoor adventure guides who work in the Blue Mountains have come together to create Adventure Aid - a weekend of Blue Mountains adventures to raise money and awareness for the environmental recovery effort.

Adventure Aid aims to support the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and Blue Mountains City Council to do what needs to be done to make it safe and environmentally responsible for us to once again enjoy the canyons, cliffs, campsites and tracks we treasure. The support will be channelled through organisations such as the NSW Canyoning Association and their Canyon Care program, which already helps NPWS care for the canyons that the Blue Mountains are world-famous for.

Adventure Aid brings together the guides and the companies and organisations that employ them, to deliver a series of adventures on the weekend of 29th February - 1st March 2020 from which the proceeds will go to this important cause.
