Are you planning a mountaineering trip and looking to learn or refresh specific skills? This training day will cover things like harness setup, basic abseiling techniques, a variety of knots, how to safely ascend and descend fixed lines and the principles of crevasse self-rescue.

It’s designed to be a very practical and hands-on training day with plenty of opportunity for repetition and offers the perfect opportunity to hone your skills under the leadership of mountaineer, Soren Kruse Ledet. Training can be tailored to your experience and mountaineering objective to ensure you make the most of the session. Preparation is the key to success on a mountaineering trip, join us to enhance your knowledge and best prepare for your adventure.

This adventure takes place on DHARUG and GUNDUNGURRA Country. We acknowledge their enduring connection with this Country, as they are the traditional custodians of this land, and we journey in respect of their Country.

About Your Leader

Soren Kruse Ledet&#160;-&#160;<i>Photo:&#160;Soren Kruse Ledet</i>

Soren Kruse Ledet is a high altitude mountain guide based in the Blue Mountains, Australia. For the past 25 years he has led and participated in more than 50 mountaineering expeditions and challenging treks in Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan and Tibet. In 2011 Soren reached 27,500 ft during an unassisted ascent of Everest and has successfully summitted Ama Dablam 4 times. He has led expeditions to Cholatse, Baruntse, Teng Kangpoche, Muztagh Ata, Pachermo and Peak Lenin among many others. His easygoing nature and professionalism make him a sought after guide.

We don’t cut corners on safety. Over and above our well-stocked and maintained first aid kits, we also carry extra safety gear such as bivvy bags and emergency sleeping bags; and our roping practices are designed to ensure the best outcome should a rescue or assist be required. You can be confident our guides are working hard to keep you safe.

No Hidden Extras

Our adventures are all inclusive. All adventures include licenses, equipment, professional guides and everything else you need for an action packed adventure. All you have to bring is suitable clothing, comfortable enclosed footwear, a water bottle and a camera to capture the day. And if you don’t have any of the necessary clothing we’ll happily provide you with the basics at no additional cost.

Diverse Range of Adventures

We offer more adventure locations in the Blue Mountains than anyone else. The canyons and climbs of the Blue Mountains are many and varied. Ever heard of Du Faurs Creek? Want to know what’s involved in Dalpura? Do the names ‘Bunny Buckets’ or ‘Dirty Rotten Pig’ sound weird, but you’re still intrigued? Keen to explore Dargan’s, Birrabang, or Breakfast Creek? If you are looking for something specific - just ask!
