"Nginalang Wiradjuri Mayingu Ngurrambang" This is Wiradjuri Aboriginal Country.
One of the hidden gems of the Blue Mountains, HOLE IN THE WALL CANYON is a spectacularly narrow, varied and interesting canyon with breathtaking rock formations. There are two main abseils, one is an 18 metre freefall through a hole in the floor of the canyon, and the other is a 10 metre slippery log abseil – straight through a waterfall. There are waterjumps, swimming and an underground glowworm-lit cave, where the fantastic display of glowworms is as impressive as the night sky. A highlight of the trip is exiting from the glowworm cave via a short squeeze with packs off. The canyon ends on a sunny rock shelf at the waters edge. The walk out takes 1 and ½ hours, the first 20 minutes involves the most strenuous walking.

We believe our canyoning adventures are heaps of fun, and we want to ensure you have the best experience possible in the remote regions we explore. Our challenging canyoning adventures are no stroll in the park. They are long, hard days moving through uneven terrain in a remote environment. Participants must have a high level of fitness along with previous abseiling and canyoning experience. Advanced canyons involve many abseils, some of which may be tricky. Access to and from the canyons is strenuous and at times very steep. Some exits involve scrambling or short rock climbs. All participants are required to carry a backpack throughout the day that may weigh in excess of 10kg. Canyons may also involve swimming in very cold water for prolonged periods of time. If you have any concerns about your suitability for this adventure, please contact our office.
