"Warami mittigar" - Hello friend. We welcome you to Dharug Country
This non-technical canyon adventure is a four-in-one combination of Joe’s Canyon, a section of Du Faur Canyon, then a section of Bell Canyon and a slither of the upper Wollangambe. 'Bula Bula' is the spoken word for the numerical four in the language of the Dharug.
Located in the Mount Wilson area of the Blue Mountains, this adventure is a beautiful collection of a tight slot canyon (Joe’s), a sun-drenched gentle-flowing creek float (Du Faur), a high-walled and deep boulder-strewn section requiring focus and patience (Bell Creek) and finally a faster float to finish on the Upper Wollangambe.
We rate it highly as a first-timers canyon adventure, without the need for abseiling, however with plenty of time in the water. That said, the canyon isn’t a dawdle. There’s a 45-minute walk into the point that we change into our wetsuits, and the post-canyon exit walk is a solid 1hr+ of walking up and out. A good level of fitness and a keenness to explore is vital.
The crystal-clear water throughout is a delight to frolic in. Laying back on your BMAC-provided canyon pack and letting the gentle flow combined with the waving of your arms in the water keeps you moving forward. And the sense of remoteness in the pristine wildness of the area heightens the sense of awe. Come and connect with the wild Blue Mountains this summer.
*AGE RESTRICTIONS: Minimum age is 12 years old due to the physical demands of accessing the canyon and a few complicated sections within the canyon.

We believe our canyoning adventures are heaps of fun, and we want to ensure you have the best experience possible in the remote regions we explore. Our introductory canyoning adventures are for those with limited previous experience in the outdoors. It’s important to us that you are aware that depending on your level of fitness, they may be physically challenging and may push you out of your comfort zone – which is a good thing! You are required to have good mobility as we will be moving through uneven terrain in a remote environment. All participants are required to carry a backpack throughout the day that may weigh up to 10kg. Canyons may also involve swimming in cold water for prolonged periods of time. If you have any concerns about your suitability for this adventure, please contact our office.
