"Warami mittigar" - Hello friend. We welcome you to Dharug Country
"Biimbiigang" - Greetings. We invite you to Gundungurra Country
A canyon off the beaten track, North Bowens Canyon, a.k.a. 'Gobsmacker Canyon', is a full day out in the Mount Wilson area - famous for its many creeks and canyons. The canyon section of North Bowens is preceded by a magnificent trek down a steep rainforest gully into a stunning walled-in creek. The canyon itself involves some constricted swims between narrow sandstone walls, rock scrambling, and some interesting abseils. There are also some water jumps and lots of canyon wildlife. Relax on a sunny rock before the adventurous walk out - with short scrambles and climbs, and great views. A bit over an hour of walking - much of it along easy but consistently up hill trails - sees us back at the car for the drive home.

We believe our canyoning adventures are heaps of fun, and we want to ensure you have the best experience possible in the remote regions we explore. Our moderate to challenging canyoning adventures are for those with previous canyoning, abseiling/climbing or hiking experience. Participants are required to have a high level of fitness and be experienced abseilers. You are also required to have good mobility as we will be moving through uneven terrain in a remote environment. There is extensive bushwalking during the day, including prolonged steep uphill sections. All participants are required to carry a backpack throughout the day that may be in excess of 10kg. Canyons may also involve swimming in cold water for prolonged periods of time. If you have any concerns about your suitability for this adventure, please contact our office.

We offer more adventure locations in the Blue Mountains than anyone else. The canyons and climbs of the Blue Mountains are many and varied. Ever heard of Du Faurs Creek? Want to know what’s involved in Dalpura? Do the names ‘Bunny Buckets’ or ‘Dirty Rotten Pig’ sound weird, but you’re still intrigued? Keen to explore Dargan’s, Birrabang, or Breakfast Creek? If you are looking for something specific - just ask!
