"Warami mittigar" - Hello friend. We welcome you to Dharug Country
"Biimbiigang" - Greetings. We invite you to Gundungurra Country
Claustral is the pinnacle of commercially guided canyoning in the Blue Mountains, demanding just about every technique in the book. Expect abseil after abseil straight down thundering waterfalls, swimming sections up to 50 metres long, exhilarating water jumps, and relentless rock scrambling — approximately 5 hours of constant movement through the canyon, with each obstacle asking something different of you. This canyon doesn't leave you wanting.
The scenery matches the challenge at every turn. The canyon shifts dramatically between dark, narrow chasms and wider open sections where beams of radiant sunlight angle into the subterranean depths, illuminating luxuriant carpets of hanging ferns and exquisite mosses that decorate the sculpted walls. Few places on earth feel quite like it.
And then there is the walk out — steep, strenuous, and approximately 4 hours on average, with several scrambling sections to keep you honest right to the end. Claustral is a long, hard day by any measure, and that is precisely what makes it so deeply rewarding.
To be eligible for Claustral Canyon, adventurers are required to have an appropriate level of fitness along with the necessary prior abseiling and canyoning experience. This is a canyon you earn — and one you will never forget.

We believe our canyoning adventures are heaps of fun, and we want to ensure you have the best experience possible in the remote regions we explore. Our challenging canyoning adventures are no stroll in the park. They are long, hard days moving through uneven terrain in a remote environment. Participants must have a high level of fitness along with previous abseiling and canyoning experience. Advanced canyons involve many abseils, some of which may be tricky. Access to and from the canyons is strenuous and at times very steep. Some exits involve scrambling or short rock climbs. All participants are required to carry a backpack throughout the day that may weigh in excess of 10kg. Canyons may also involve swimming in very cold water for prolonged periods of time. If you have any concerns about your suitability for this adventure, please contact our office.
